Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BookAFix, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

2. Platform Description

BookAFix is a marketplace platform that connects clients seeking home services (plumbing, electrical, cleaning, moving, etc.) with independent service providers. BookAFix is not itself a service provider.

3. User Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • One person may not maintain multiple accounts

4. Client Terms

  • Clients may browse services, request quotes, and book providers
  • Payment is required upon completion of a service
  • Clients must provide accurate service location and description
  • Cancellation fees may apply for late cancellations

5. Provider Terms

  • Providers must complete identity verification (KYC)
  • Providers must link a valid South African bank account
  • Providers are independent contractors, not employees of BookAFix
  • Providers must maintain appropriate insurance and licences
  • Providers must deliver services as described and agreed

6. Payments

  • All payments are processed securely through Paystack
  • BookAFix charges a 15% platform fee on each transaction
  • Providers receive payment within 1 business day of job completion
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis

7. Reviews and Ratings

  • Both clients and providers may leave reviews after a completed booking
  • Reviews must be honest and based on actual experience
  • BookAFix reserves the right to remove fraudulent or abusive reviews

8. Prohibited Conduct

  • Circumventing the platform to avoid fees
  • Providing false information or impersonating others
  • Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour
  • Using the platform for illegal activities

9. Limitation of Liability

BookAFix acts as a marketplace and is not liable for the quality of services provided by independent providers. We do not guarantee the outcome of any service booking.

10. Dispute Resolution

Disputes between clients and providers should first be raised through the platform's dispute system. If unresolved, matters will be handled under South African law.

11. Termination

BookAFix may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Users may close their accounts at any time.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
